More than anything else, I have created this site in order to address two questions:
Why do we, collectively, and to a lesser extent, individually, murder and maim each other in so many ways?
What if anything, can be done about that?
Read the “What This Site Is All About” for more information.
Poetry is political.
It must transform the manner in which fish and the ocean are together. Or it is nothing.
There is a sequence to social and
political transformation – whether
for the good or the bad. It begins in an individual's soul, with the vision of
new ways of being in the world. The articulation of that vision is poetry.
Through that articulation the vision can be communicated to others. If that
new way of seeing things is absorbed be enough people, it becomes a part of
the collective mind. Then, and only then, the machinery of society will begin
to be transformed. (The painting of the fish is by Paul Klee.)
