Music can be viewed from a mathematical perspective. Suppose that a brilliant mathematician who was deaf was assigned the task of describing a beautiful symphony in terms of mathematical equations, and that he succeeded in doing so. His equations would represent an understanding of sorts. A degree of aesthetic gratification would accompany this accomplishment, but the actual point of the music would elude him. This is the state of the modern mind. It can do the math, but cannot hear the music.
More than anything else, I have created this site in order to address two questions:
Why do we, collectively, and to a lesser extent, individually, murder and maim each other in so many ways?
What if anything, can be done about that?
